With over three decades of credit and crisis experience, Peter J. Duff has gained an unparalleled reputation for successfully managing the adverse impact of problem loans.  While others talk about maximizing recovery opportunities, Mr. Duff has proven it for decades as a financial executive specializing in credit consulting and crisis management.  His recovery rate is among the most impressive in the industry. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the dollar for dollar workout record involved solutions that ranged from outright sales and buyouts to total turnarounds, as well as friendly and unfriendly liquidations.

Peter has gained a unique perspective in both credit and crisis management having served both lenders and borrowers. From his early beginning as a factoring executive and problem loan officer to the establishment of his own consulting firm, Peter Duff has come to be known as a leading authority in crisis management. Experience is the key behind his outstanding achievements.  Peter began his financial services career in New York City in 1959 with Commercial Factors Corporation, a Subsidiary of C.I.T. Financial Corporation.  In 1962 he began a ten year association with Walter Heller & Company where he served as manager of the Asset-Based Lending Department and manager of the Problem Loan Department.

In 1973 Peter Duff formed the Reserve Credit Corporation, a private credit insurance company and served as the company’s President until 1977 when he accepted a position with New York ’s Irving Trust Company. He left Irving Trust as Senior Credit Officer to become Manager of new product development for Chemical Bank of New York. In 1985 Mr. Duff joined the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company of Hartford, Connecticut. He was a senior VP and managed the Asset-Based Lending Portfolio prior to establishing his own credit consulting and crisis management firm, Duff & Associates in March of 1990.
